In 1960, American designers Charles and Ray Eames were commissioned by the chair of Time-Life company to furnish three lobbies at the Time-Life Building at Rockefeller Center in New York City. Tasked with transforming the interior of these lobbies, the Eameses designed a series of chairs to furnish the lobbies, including the Time-Life office chair for the executive floor of the building. The chair is generously proportioned with thick, plush cushions allowing for maximum comfort and utility.
