Platner Coffee Table

While most modern designers reduced furniture design to its most basic components, Warren Platner aimed to make his designs both functional and ornamental, without sacrificing beauty for simplicity. To this end, Platner created a series of chairs, stools and tables in 1966 with curved steel rods welded to circular frames which gave the characteristic structure to Platner's works. The result is a multi-purpose table that functions as furniture and sculpture.
