The Noguchi Rudder Table perfectly embodies the design philosophy of Japanese sculptor and designer Isamu Noguchi, who created biomorphic sculptures that were inspired the shape of organic materials. His furniture design was informed by his artistic practice and many pieces
could double as both furniture and sculpture. The table balances carefully on three legs, with one in wood made to resemble the rudder of a ship for which it was named.
